The LA Weight Loss Diet - Since its inception in 1994, LA weight loss has expanded with locations all over the world. The program focuses on tailored diet plans and one-on-one counseling. As part of the program dieters are expected to visit one of the weight-loss centers several times a week for meetings with a counselor.

The program does not require the use of prepared foods. Recommendations are made for eating out but there are no food restrictions and no calorie counting is required. The program reduces calorie intake by portion sizes. These smaller portion sizes will come from different food groups such as protein, fruit & vegetables, fat, starch, and dairy.
The diet is divided into 3 phases. The first is the Weight Loss phase, then Stabilize, followed by Maintenance.
Weight Loss Phase
As the name implies, this is the period of time weight loss is experienced, or should be experienced. Calorie consumption is restricted the most during this phase and exercise plays a pivotal role in the success of the phase. During this phase a member meets with his or her counselor 3 times a week for a check-in where they offer motivation, reinforcement, and reminders. This phase lasts for as long as it takes to meet the weight loss goal.
Stabilization Phase
Once the weight loss goal is met, the member enters the Stabilization Phase. In this phase the member meets twice weekly with a consoler who monitors the members weight and gives tips. This phase lasts for 6 weeks where the dieter must stabilize their weight.
Maintenance Phase
A once a week visit winds down the program. It is at this time that weight management for a lifetime is addressed.
