Current Diet: My Own Diet

PostPosted: Wed Oct 07, 2009 9:52 pm    Post subject: Weight Loss Tracker Reply with quote

I have been using the weight loss tracker just about the whole time I have been on the site- and am still continuing to add it to my lifestyle change. I am trying to kick the word "diet" from my lexicon.
I find the weight loss tracker easy to use and very helpful. I can count my calories right there, and notate my foods in ways that help me. It lists things alphabetically as you put them in, and you can have up to 150 foods.
If you like a large selection of foods- or eat quite a few say, microwave diet dinners that are the same calorie value- I would list them as "Diet Micro Dinner X calories" to save having 6 spots taken up for all of my 320 calorie faves. I also don't list 0 calorie items such as water and hot sauce.
If you use the activity tracker- it deducts your calorie burn right from your calorie intake. I prefer to do mine at the end of the day so I do not overindulge by mistake- however- it's great to be able to see those calories burned sitting right there on your tracker. There is an activity calculator on the site.
Your weight loss tracker calculator allows you to figure your basal metabolic rate (resting metabolism). It also allows you to input your starting weight and goal weight. You can change your goal if you find that you need to lose more or you find that you have reached a healthy weight before you reach your original goal. I change my BMR info regular to allow for the caloric intake differences as my weight goes down. some folks think that it is a little strict- but I have lost 113 calories in my BMR by losing 29.6 pounds.
Two of the best features about the weight loss tracker- other than the calorie counter- which can also be adjusted when you hit your goal weight to compensate for maintaining a healthy weight versus weight loss-
Is that you get a little percentage that tells you- hey, you have lost x%. It's a real confidence booster. The other thing is that you can copy and paste what you have eaten to your journal or message or MS Word and ask for help here or from your doctor, life coach, WW leader, or whomever you need about your eating habits.
The other thing I like is that if I am away from my computer for a few days- I can keep paper records, and when I come back, click on the dates and put in my info- everything is not lost.
Hope you have the same luck I am having with the weight loss tracker.
I have gone from a 6 to a 16 and am now back in 10s and 12s. Look out 6s. I have 39% to my goal.

I am crying now after using the tracker. It is a harsh wake-up to how already my food choices early in the morning have got me down. I also know better than ever that my limited excercise makes little or no difference. Your post has encouraged me. For months I have been in denial thinking I was making a difference with food choices and then I would blow it with an indulgence. The tracker makes it impossible to fool or trick myself. I will reread your post to help me stay on track. thanks

claude123,

The trick is to find some low calorie, but filling foods. That will help you eat more quanity while using less calories.

If you want I can make some suggestions.
